eZines

I have quite a few Zines over on Lulu Publishing!  But for something directly from the artist, here are a few samples.

Here's a little zine of encouragement, absolutely free. It was something I created for a friend going through a rough time.  It was originally for her art journal and the idea was that art every day will help you feel better. It doesn't have to be perfect, in fact there's a whole tradition around wabi-sabi art, so no worries, just make art every day!  Contact me for your copy: lanipuppetmaker at mac dot com

This little zine, is Six Easy Lessons for a Happy Artist’s Life, was created for the 6 Degrees of Creativity workshops.
I believe the simplest and gentlest things really are the source of creativity and happiness. I'm sure of it. Those moments when you are actually in your own skin, feeling, being, enjoying your life, those are the deepest moments of happiness and they are free for us to access at any time.  Have you ever felt that sense of possibility and excitement of a magical day unfolding like on the first day of a vacation, or on the first day in a new place when you have no idea what is around the next corner? For me that feeling is a clue to creating a happy artist's life.  If you are interested in how to take the "least thing" and make up the "best happiness" check out "Six Easy Lessons for a Happy Artist's Life".  Each of these six simple lesson will have a positive psychology principal at its base, and will be easy to replicate in any art room or even in the privacy of your own art journal.  What could be better?  Start your happy artist's life today!  $5

FOTOSHOP FUN, THE ZINE

Photo-manipulation and Fun in one image and screen-shot filled 60+ page zine.  Loads to learn and lots of inspiration.  $9.99.

This eZine was created to encourage playing with photo-manipulation programs for photographers, artists and non-linear learners. Along with various Photoshop programs, I have been working with the share-ware (free) program Gimp with success. My approach is definitely a bit non-linear. I don't learn in a linear way, I love experimentation and play, so that is also the way I love to teach. I have found plenty of good, solid, linear type tutorials and links for those who would like that too, so no worries. One thing I have noticed in my exploration of various photo-manipulation techniques is that if I find images I really like, the learning is much easier for me. So that is the key to this eZine. Use the images you love when working with this Zine. When we get inspired by our images, our inspiration will lead us to learn more about our various programs with greater ease.
